Fulcrum sets the highest standards of common decency in our dealings with our staff, students, countries visited and all others with whom we work. We apply charitable principals to our business.
Fulcrum expects that everyone involved with the programme understands their Duty of Care. They must recognise that they are acting in loco parentis, as a caring and prudent parent, seeking to eliminate risks to life and limb, reducing minor accidents and illnesses. They must ensure the physical and emotional well being of the participants.

We choose management and staff on their ability to inspire and enthuse students through their positive, professional and social qualities. Management acknowledges that students may see them as role models, therefore they must display the appropriate standards of conduct with regard to their general behaviour. We break down barriers between management and students.
We believe that each participant has the right to a safe and
enjoyable experience, regardless of gender, background or
origin, free from physical hazards and emotional distress.

We call for commitment and involvement from every participant, together with a preparedness to explore and learn about the dynamics of working in or leading a team. Fulcrum believes in providing a safe but experimental environment in which to learn without undue pressure.
We aspire to give students a wider understanding and respect for the lifestyles, beliefs and values of the communities and cultures around the world. The development of a sympathetic and enthusiastic approach to the issues of conservation and the environment is a priority.
Fulcrum is not about climbing mountains or other physically stretching endeavours, it is about the students self development through the medium of human contact and personal relationships.
